'Rural Ministry: The Call to be an Astronaut’
Having always lived in cities, Emma never imagined she would be a young priest in rural parishes. But she has discovered how big God's heart is for the rural and small parishes, and is now passionate herself about having a vibrant vision for the future of our rural churches and communities. Emma will spend some time giving her own reflections on the highs and lows of rural ministry, before moving into holding a workshop where participants will be invited to look at theoretical and practical ways in which we can prayerfully discern the bigger picture for living out our faith together.
Programme:
10.30 am Arrival and refreshments
10.45-11.45 am Emma's reflections
11.45 am-12.15 pm Workshop
12.15 pm -1.00 pm Faith Lunch*
*Emma’s suggestion is that we have a “Faith Lunch” and we would be very grateful if participants could bring something along! Tea and coffee will be provided.
Please note that parking is available to the rear of the Church but is limited. Parking is available in adjacent streets, nearby at supermarket car parks and opposite the Church at Bishop Auckland General Hospital (charges may apply).
You do not need to book a place, but it would be helpful if you could contact Carole Laverick at c.laverick07@btinternet.com to let us know that you will be attending.
