Presbyteral Synod Secretary — In 2013, I was surprised to find myself stationed not only in the district where I grew up but also in the circuit where I grew up, the circuit from which I candidated for ministry and the circuit where I initially served for three years as a minister in local appointment. I am even more surprised to find myself now as superintendent of that same circuit, although admittedly the circuit is somewhat larger, geographically at least, than it was then. But I do feel, as indeed I felt in 2013, that it is where God wants me to be. I only hope and pray that the people to whom I minister feel that way too!! My role within the district is to act as secretary to the Presbyteral session of Synod which meets once a year in the spring. It's a role which I took on in 2016, after much prayerful thought, but one which I enjoy immensely, not least because it allows me to see beyond the circuit to what is happening within the wider sphere of Methodism.
