MWoL Mat at Weardale Show

Weardale Methodist Church was present at the Weardale Show and they took the Methodist Way of Life floor mat with them to give them opportunities to have conversations with visitors.

This what they said about the day: It was a very wet day, however we had some lovely conversations. The people who were familiar with the church related to the "stations" but those outside struggled until we explained that people actually do quite a lot in their lives already.

This especially related to justice and that came back to the charities/ food banks people supported.

We did use the categories and it is interesting to see what people are scared of. One comment was this was a good framework for living and bringing up children.

In future use we would prepare stories for the stations that relate to those who are not familiar with the church, Environment and Justice!

However we believe it is a completely new way of sharing the church other than the traditional Christmas services and Harvest.
