A Connexional Form for all volunteers to complete as part of their recruitment process

Volunteer Recruitment Record

A Form to make sure you follow all of the 12 steps of safer Recruitment. Fill one out for each volunteer.

A chart showing the 12 Steps of Safer Recruitment, as outlined in the Methodist Church Safer Recruitment Policy. Useful for anyone in Churches, Circuits, or Districts recruiting volunteers or employees.

Role Outline Examples 2026

A table of example role outlines. These can be used as guidance, but must be adapted to the local context, as roles with the same title differ a lot from church to church! Useful for anyone doing safer recruitment in churches or circuits.

A document to help you work out the right level of DBS and safeguarding training for different roles- especially helpful for more unusual role.

Volunteer Boundary Checklist Leaflet

A guide to help volunteers reflect on safe, appropriate boundaries in their role. Helpful to give to volunteers, or to go through with a team together. 

Code of Safer Working Practices with Children, Young People, and Adults- foldable!

A formatted version of the Code of Safer Working Practices for Children, Young People, and Adults which folds into a leaflet. Each Volunteer should be given one of these annually.

Safeguarding Quick Reference Cards

A link to Methodist Publishing House where you can order the the Safeguarding Quick Reference cards, to give to all volunteers. Be warned, they come in packs of 10 so don't accidently order 1000!
